Stef Tovar
Stef has been a professional on-camera acting coach for the past three years. His clients range from children with no experience to Oscar and Grammy winners. They have been seen on CHICAGO FIRE, PD, MED and JUSTICE as well as work all over the country. Stef is also an actor and the Founder and current Artistic Director of Route 66 Theatre Company, where he was recently seen as Don in the Chicago premiere of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE GYNECOLOGIC ONCOLOGY UNIT AT MEMORIAL SLOAN-KETTERING CANCER CENTER OF NEW YORK CITY directed by Keira Fromm. Stef then reprised his role as Nolan in NO WAKE, Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theaters, directed by Veronica Brady. Some of Stef's other Chicago credits include Edward Bloom in the Midwest regional premiere of BIG FISH ; Luther Billis in SOUTH PACIFIC at the Marriott Theatre (Jeff Award nomination-Best Supporting Actor in a Musical); Franz in APPROPRIATE (Victory Gardens) and Harold Hill in the critically acclaimed Paramount Theatre production of THE MUSIC MAN. Stef won a Jeff Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Vinal in BLADE TO THE HEAT at Apple Tree Theatre. Television and film credits include BOSS; CHICAGO FIRE (Season one as Daniel Schwartz); EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH (with Matt Dillon and Steve Zahn); the upcoming UNTITLED BOBBY ROBERTS PROJECT (with Fred Willard); WIDOWS (with Colin Farrell, directed by Steve McQueen) and CONTAGION (directed by Steven Soderbergh) where Stef gives some very bad news to Matt Damon as Dr. Arrington. Stef's best role to date: proud father of Sam. |
Stephen Schellhardt
Stephen has acted in numerous Equity productions in Chicagoland theatres and regional theatres elsewhere, receiving three Equity Joseph Jefferson Award nominations and a Barrymore Award for acting, as well as a Non-Equity Jeff-nomination for his directorial work on Urinetown and his choreographic work on Dogfight the musical (Bohemian Theatre Ensemble). In Chicago, Stephen has worked with the Marriott Theatre, Writers Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, Mercury Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, About Face Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Chicago’s Lyric Opera, The Goodman Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre and the Ravinia Festival. He is a company member and Artistic Associate at BoHo Theatre in Chicago, and has been on faculty at Northwestern University’s National High School Institute (Cherub Program) for over ten summers. He is a founding member of the Chicago Artists Chorale, Artistic Director of the Winnetka Children’s Theatre, and most recently served as the Casting Director and Associate Producer at Writers Theatre in Glencoe. Currently, Stephen is a full-time lecturer of musical theatre at Northwestern University in Evanston, and a proud graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s Drama School. |
